Wile E. Coyote and Capital Funding…
There’s a bunch of Wile E. Coyotes (entrepreneurs/start-ups) out there that are super brilliant armed with latest and greatest Acme (online protocols) technology; and they’re all starved right now. Wile E. Coyote or Eatibus Anythingus is really chasing fast for that damn Beep Beep Road Runner (Revenue). And no matter how brilliant the plan, but if he doesn’t have enough road (capital), his legs can be spinning super fast but he’ll still crash a mile down that canyon as soon as he looks down and realizes he can’t outsmart gravity (the market).
But what’s really awesome about Wile E. Coyote, he’s always survives and is always right back into the chase.
I get to speak to a lot of different entrepreneurs and venture capitalists out here, and like everywhere else in the world, capital is still really dry. Hell, even Dubai is going bankrupt right now. And the money that’s around, you know you’re going to get low balled if you take it so you might as well wait till later. It should be real interesting to see who’s still around next April and who can raise a round of money to buy new Acme products to take off during the next and following year.
